Rice Alliance Hosts 8th Annual Energy & Clean Technology Venture Forum
Most promising Energy and Clean Technology Breakthroughs to be showcased Thursday September 16, 2010
HOUSTON – September 8, 2010 - The Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship will host its 8th Annual Energy & Clean Technology Venture Forum on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Rice University Jones Graduate School of Business in McNair Hall.
“More than 55 energy and clean technology companies from across the U.S. will showcase new advancements in traditional energy, as well as clean tech and advanced materials,” said Brad Burke, managing director of the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship. “500 hundred plus investors and venture capitalists, industry representatives, business leaders, advisors/mentors, service providers, and entrepreneurs will be in attendance to learn about these promising new advancements.”
Attendees will develop heightened understandings of investment opportunities in the industry as they hear from the nation’s most prominent venture capitalists. Industry experts, including professionals and leading scholars, will provide insight into how emerging energy and clean technology applications are being utilized by businesses today, and will share predictions for the future.

Five pre-selected energy and clean technology companies will present 10-minute business plans during the forum, including: Advanced Hydro Inc.; Eco Power Solutions; Emissions Technology, Inc.; Ideal Power Converters; OsComp Systems, Inc. Company updates will be presented by five additional companies. Ten of the 55 elevator pitch presenting companies will be selected by the Rice Alliance Energy and Clean Technology Advisory Board to receive the Rising Venture Award.

The pre-registration deadline for the Energy & Clean Technology Venture Forum is September 13. The event is free to members of The Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship and full-time Rice University students, faculty and staff. The pre-registration cost for members of the general public is $75. The cost for all individuals who do not register prior to September 13 is $85.
