Intent to CompeteWelcome to the 2010 Rice Business Plan Competition. We appreciate your interest in participating in this year’s event, hosted by the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship and the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University. We will announce the 42 teams who have been invited to compete no later than March 11. Teams will have 48 hours to accept their invitation. ALL TEAMS that are accepted into the competition are guaranteed to win cash prize money! Please note: Your business plan must be for a seed, start-up or early stage venture and must be seeking outside investment capital. These ventures must be “for profit” entities. Proposals for the buy-out or expansion of an existing company, tax-shelter opportunities, real estate syndications, subsidiaries and other consulting projects or analyses are not eligible. The judges will be looking for new ventures, not just a distribution play in the American market of a product already being sold in another market. The business should not have generated revenues prior to Sept. 1, 2009. Each team MUST have the endorsement of a faculty advisor at their school and must provide contact information for their faculty advisor, regardless of whether or not the advisor will travel with the team to Rice University. All faculty advisors will be contacted for verification. Each team must also commit to having two team members compete at the Competition in Houston. Click Here to complete the 2010 Intent to Compete form to be considered for this year's competition and to receive a free download of Business Plan Pro Academic Premier Edition donated by our sponsor Palo Alto Software. The software is a useful tool in writing a better business plan so the earlier you sign up the earlier you can utilize this tool.
