Who Is Eligible

The Rice Business Plan Competition is open to full- and part-time graduate level students, not just MBA candidates, enrolled in a University during the academic year 2008-2009.  Non-students may be members of the management team and participate in planning the venture; however only students may present the plan in the competition on campus and answer questions from the judges.

• Full- or part-time graduate students: includes full-time, part-time, end executive MBA candidates, MD candidates, other Masters candidates, and PhD candidates
• Teams with 2-5 team members (one member must be a graduate level student)
• Ventures that are designated as "for profit" entities seeking outside equity capital
• Teams that are University sponsored and have the endorsement of a faculty advisor
• Ventures that have NOT earned revenues or have NOT raised equity capital (other than friends and family)money prior to the start of the current academic year
• Teams that have NOT competed at a MOOT Corp competition in a previous year
